Starlink, company of the world famous businessman, Elon Musk, has already started the pre-sale of its internet service in Brazil to compete with companies such as Vivo, Claro, AmericanNET, among others.

Those interested can already register on the company’s website and make a reservation if hiring and using the internet, the value is US $ 99 for booking the internet via satellite.

The company sent an e-mail to the interested parties and informed that the payment will guarantee preferential service to the person who made the reservation.

As determined by the Correio do Interior, the SpaceX broadband operator must have coverage throughout Brazil by the end of 2021, having already registered CNPJ in Brazilian territory, leaving only to receive authorization from Anatel.

The $ 99 fee can be paid with an international credit card and is refundable at any time. In the future, the customer will have to buy the kit with satellite dish and router that costs US$ 499.

Here it is worth remembering that the Starlink internet will not be for everyone: the monthly internet connection is US$99, which is equivalent to approximately R$ 550 per month in direct conversion. It is much more expensive than a broadband connection from a traditional operator: Vivo and Oi, for example, charge R$ 99 per month for the 200 Mb/s plan.

Because it uses satellite technology, the service is suitable for those who live in regions that are not yet served by traditional fixed cable or fiber optic operators. Starlink must compete with other satellite providers such as Hughesnet and Viasat, which charge up to R $ 619 per month for a connection with a data limit.
